When this occurs, the original signifies, as it frequently does elsewhere, a physical, visible phenomenon. This meaning is found for instance in Ex., xxiv, “And the glory of the Lord dwelt upon Sinai”; in Luke, ii, 9, and in the account of the Transfiguration on.

    The other important point that should be made concerns the phrase ‘the hope of glory.’ Glory is an interesting word and can mean different things depending on the context.
